IF: Crash

February 12, 2007

This week’s Illustration Friday theme, crash, was very appropriate for this week.  Thursday night we took our youngest to the Emergency Room for the first time.  Being a  toddler, he tumbles around a lot. I guess that we should have been prepared for the inevitable.  He ran into the handicap handrail in front of our library.  As head wounds are known to do, gushing blood was everywhere.  By the time we got to the ER, the blood had slowed done and he was happy and singing and playing.  No major damage.  The doctor glued the cut shut and sent us home!  Amazing stuff that glue!    We have been keeping a bandage over it to prevent curious fingers from picking at the glue.  So this Illo Friday is inspired by true life.

Ah, the bumps and bruises stage! Mine are out of it now but I remember it well. Love the eyes. They’re just asking you to “kiss it better”.

Didn’t know they use glue these days… of course, much better than stitches! 🙂
